It was only a matter of time before Katie Holmes got in touch with her Dark side.
She of the rolled jeans and fashionista toddler has signed on to star in Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, a thriller written by Pan’s Labyrinth and Hobbit mastermind Guillermo del Toro.
A rep for Mrs. Tom Cruise confirmed the casting to E! News.
The adrenaline-pumping flick is based on a TV movie that aired on ABC back in 1973, which centered on a girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend, only to realize that they are not the only occupants of the abode.
Holmes will be heading Down Under, to the land of the former Mrs. Cruise, for the project: The film shoots this summer in Melbourne.

Kidman says that her teenage son with Tom Cruise would love a little brother and is looking for Katie Holmes to take the job.
According to Nicole Kidman, her two older children with ex-husband Tom Cruise are wanting a little brother bad. Kidman, who also has a Sunday Rose, almost 1, says that she is leaving it up to Tom’s new wife, Katie Holmes to fulfill their wishes.
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise got divorced in 2001. Nicole went on to remarry Keith Urban, while Tom went on to marry Katie Holmes. Tom and Katie have 3-year-old daughter Suri.
Nicole told Britain’s Easy Living magazine “Connor and Isabella are very adoring of Sunday Rose. They’re used to having a little one around because of Suri. Bella is very maternal. Connor would like one of us to have a boy. Katie?
