Damn Yankees: Katie originally had to turn down the role of Josephine Potter on the hit teen drama Dawsons Creek because her call back happened to fall on the opening night of her highschool play "Damn Yankees" in which she played Lola. Kevin Williamson decided to later the audition. Katie made a tape in her mothers sewing room of her reading the role of Josephine Potter. She played the role of Joesphine Potter for 6 straight seasons.
No Boys Allowed: Katie attended an all girls catholic highschool in Toledo, Notre Dame Academy.
Too Young: Didn't get the role of Buffy Summers on Buffy The Vampire Slayer simply because she was too young.
The Baby: Katie is the youngest of four, three older sisters and one brother.
Barbie Fanatic: Growing up Katie was a wonderful little girl, very well behaved. She collected Barbie Dolls. Katie enjoyed acting out scenes with her Barbie Dolls. She still laughs at this today.
Like Character, Like Actress: Like Joey, Katie was a wonderful student and recieved consecutive good grades. Katie never really had any serious boyfriends, and was a bit afraid of boys.
Most Life-Altering Moment: On July 23 1995 her life altered completely. She was attending a Model and Talent Search with her mother at the New York Hiton. Auditioning in that room along with many other girls granted her her first premiere role, Libbits Casey in Ang's Lee "The Ice Storm. Katie's dream was realistically coming true. After "The Ice Storm", Katies next job was Dawson's Creek.
Love Life: Katie dated Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson during the first two seasons, and still admits today that he was her first true love. The two remain great friends, and both enjoyed acting like they were still in love on the D.C. sets. Katie is now with famous actor Tom Cruise, and Josh is single.
